Special Features

The Prairie Cove Preserve is located just upstream from Armand Bayou Nature Center, the largest urban wildlife refuge in the United States. This small tract is unique in that it contains three distinct ecosystems including 23 different native tree species. The tract is host to many bird species including orange-crowned warblers, northern parulas, white-throated sparrows and yellow-crowned night herons.
